You don't get to pick and choose

Different ass and bigger boobs

If my eyes are brown or blue"

Bella Poarch, who is slowly becoming a household name has now released her debut single with Warner, "Build a Bitch".

Before rising to fame, Bella Poarch grew up in the Philippines with her family. By her teen years, she moved to Texas and went on to serve in the United States Navy, and in April of 2020, she created her Tiktok account and soon began uploading videos. It was soon after that she created a lip-synced video to the song "M to the B" by Millie B, which went on to become the most liked video in the history of the media platform. She is now amongst one of the most popular influencers to originate from the app, her fame seeming to rise almost overnight.

Amongst the producers of the song is Daniel Virgil Maisonneuve, better known by his artist name Sub Urban, known for his songs like "Cradles" and "Freak". "Build a Bitch" has a playful, confident tone to it and explores the realities of women being objectified and the empowering message of not shaping and molding to the standards of society. "I hope it helps people to feel more confident and good about themselves, and also reminds them not to judge anyone else," Poarch explained in a press statement.

On the podcast CouRage and Nadeshot Show, the artist talked about how she had been bullied growing up and that she wanted to make a song that helped others feel good about themselves. In an age where virtually every young individual is influenced by what they see on the internet, this message is truly admirable, especially with Poarch's incredibly strong influential power. On the podcast, she also discussed how her passion for singing has been there since she was young and that she’s always wanted to be a singer. This is visible on her TikTok account, where Bella Poarch posts occasional videos of her singing covers of popular songs and playing the ukelele.

Alongside the release of her debut single was a music video directed by Andrew Donoho (with the inclusion of creative direction from Sub Urban). The video displayed the scenario in which men can physically choose the characteristics of their desired partner, featuring Poarch as one of the women made in the factory. The story continued to her character then breaking out and setting her fellow girls free, going hand in hand with the initial message of the lyrics of the song of not fitting into society's expectations. The video has already exceeded 60 million views in its first week with 4 million likes, indicative of Bella Poarch’s compelling likability.

With the virality of Bella Poarch’s creative Tiktok videos and now the early success of her debut catchy single "Build a Bitch", the talented creator has a promising journey ahead and is on the right path of self-expression through her music. Poarch is not only one of the most influential Philippine creators as of late, but one who is as big on a global scale. She clearly shows how she can captivate audiences, and the infectious catchiness of "Build a Bitch" has everyone listening for when she continues to expand her discography.
