Cebu City, the Queen City of the South, has been home to homegrown music for the years leading to the growth of Original Pinoy Music. Having been overshadowed by the center of the music industry, Manila, has led some undiscovered gems to shine in the south. One of these undiscovered talents goes by the name of Saad Ryan Sinamban also known as Saad Rhy.

Coming from the band scene, Saad Rhy has had years to back his growing career in the hip-hop space. Here in Cebu, rap artists like Cookie$, Fonzy, and many others made the switch to the rising genre of hip-hop as the era of bands came to a close.

Saad Rhy is a standout in the scene — a diverse rapper able to showcase his lyricism through different styles. His collaboration with Cebuano MC B-Mac titled "Haterz (Die Tonight)" proved his grit through the lyrics, while his track with Filipino-Australian Rapper Boy Graduate "Beshy" showcased Saad Rhy's ability to flow with much smoother instrumentals for a love song.

Saad Rhy's latest release "Kalayo", produced by Iloilo's very own DJ/Producer DJ Young, shows the artist's more sensual side in an afro-inspired hip-hop tropical beat. The track came out on January 1st followed by a music video that debuted on February 13th. This music video was produced, most notably, by Dice and Hi-C.

With the industry's focus leaning more towards the south of the Philippines, Saad Rhy is one artist to watch for in the years to follow. He is now officially working with Warner Music Philippines for distribution, giving him opportunities to expand exponentially. Keep your eyes posted for this artist on the come-up from the Queen City of the South.
