"I know what I want and that's definitely NOT clout chasing and creating songs that I might even delete in the future"

- Swizzy Max

Being directly involved with the Filipino music scene both locally and abroad has allowed me to connect and interact with different Filipino Talent from around the world. I have connected with many and only a few of them stand out through the music that they create, the stories they tell, and the work ethic that they embody, and one of these is Swizzy Max. Sven-M. Skrzypek, or more popularly known by his artist name Swizzy Max, is a Filipino-German R&B Pop artist who draws his influence from many different genres and is back with his latest song "Day & Night".

I previously spoke with Swizzy on a video call we had one night, speaking on music and many different things and one of the statements he mentioned to me which stood us was "I don't care if the song isn't a hit, as long as I'm able to spread a positive message, enjoy my passion and people enjoy the song then that's good with me". "Day and Night" is no exception from what Swizzy embodies, telling that story of how much work, time, and his grind as a whole he has placed into his career as an artist. "No, I trust none foolish, I don't even fuss nor push it", are lines from the song which show as well that he doesn't depend on anyone to get the results, he just focuses on himself and whatever mishaps people might throw, he's just gonna let that slide and stay on his grind.

The production on the "Day and Night" brings that island flavored sound that touches on Swizzy's Filipino roots, it's a dancehall-based track mixed in with vocals with a little Jamaican mix. The song was a collaboration with one of Swizzy's favorite producer "saucekenny", and with the artist himself doing the vocals, production, and vocal mixing. The song came about unexpectedly through a late-night sit-in with Swizzy and his friends, and in the booth, the words for the lyrics came about like it was meant to be there in the first place.

Swizzy Max was originally from Tabuelan, a municipality in the north of Cebu, and was raised here until reaching the age of 10 years old and eventually moving to Germany. His father was Polish and his mother Filipina, and this diversity has allowed Swizzy to touch on both his parent's culture. He is an artist with an insane work ethic doing the mixing, mastering, and music video production for his own tracks and he has had many notable achievements with his biggest one performing in the Fifa World Cup in 2008 in front of 14,000 people.

It was a pleasure having Swizzy Max on one of my tracks, for the remix of my song "Fallin Off", and I'm glad to have met someone with this much drive and creativity. He is just starting to connect with different Filipino artists from around the world and as he is now officially part of the Warner Music PH lineup, the possibilities for this creative are endless.
