"Learn every day. Keep on learning whether it's on how to perform, how to socialize, how to write songs, how to have stage presence. Really, learn anything and everything you can because being an artist is more than just having a good song. And taking music as a full-time career needs commitment.''

- Route 83

The end is truly a scary idea to think of. We've all experienced the end of something, whether it's for a 7-year relationship, a childhood friendship, a fantastic vacation, or even just a scrumptious meal. For many people meeting the end of things and relationships you once truly cared for could be the most terrifying moment in your life. It's unchartered waters in a vast sea, it's entering a dark tunnel with no sign of light, it's this moment where everything is just suddenly so uncertain, and next thing you know, you're afraid, confused, and alone.

In my past relationships, I’ve learned that sometimes the person we think is "the one” just wasn't and that’s okay! It's just part of life's cycle, every heartbreak brings you one step closer to finding your person. It’s a question many of us ask ourselves each time we experience heartbreak or emotional pain: "How do you let go of the past and move on?" Well, a talented Cebu-based duo may just have the cure for you! Call them Route 83 as they’ll drive you back to the good times and help set your heart free in their newest single "Katapusan". Have you ever had that feeling when you finally realize that you are free? Because you have finally found peace? This is exactly what "Katapusan" shares with us. Route 83 describes the song as:

“ Katapusan is talking about having that person coming back anytime just because they can and they try to make a fool out of you by making you fall for it. And in the song, we conveyed the feeling “you’ve messed with me before but you know what, this is the end. ”

Things that feel like the end are new beginnings in our lives, and Route 83 shows us how there’s nothing to fear when relationships end, even though sometimes the end or katapusan could be a scary thing to think about. Listening to the track made me feel empowered more than anything else as if I’m taking a stand and fighting against all the irrational fears playing inside my head I love how the artist shared that their favorite line was

“I refuse to get lured by your tricks that’s so old like a joke”

To put your foot down and truly say that "This is the end, and I know my worth." Is an inspiring and empowering message to all of us. We can see this message being translated not only in the lyrics, but also in the creative musical production of the song as they’ve created such a light, happy, freeing, and danceable track.

I felt as if I was being reborn into this new person as the end of my past self has been put to a stop. It was an electric feeling that reminded me how each day is a new day to begin, to achieve your goals, enjoy life, and do what makes you happy. It was a rally for self-love, to choose your mental health and your self-worth, to remind you of the amazing person you are, how no one should take you for granted, and most importantly — You are worth all the love of the world.

Route 83 is known for its English-Bisaya tracks. This dynamic duo has been in the music industry for 3 years. From performing at the MYX Awards 2020 to covering editorial playlists on Spotify, the two even shared how they performed in the Dinagyang Festival of 2020 in Iloilo, citing it as it was one of their most memorable performances. Route 83 is inspired by notable artists such as Bebe Rexha, Charlie Puth, Ed Sheeran among many other singer-songwriters.

Though Route 83 has announced in the Routies group (the official group page for Route 83) that they will be taking a break to focus on growing individually, we are truly excited about the power and talent these individuals will bring in the future! "Katapusan" is available now on all streaming platforms.
