Boy Graduate

Australian Filipino R&B recording artist Cameron Klepiak, who goes by his stage name Boy Graduate is releasing his single under Warner Distribution called "Before I Stop", the first of many tracks to be released this year, according to the artist.

Originally starting his music project as his artist name Boy Graduate in 2016, Klepiak has since then gone on to be recognized by big acts in both Australia and the Philippines, co-signing and performing as a supporting act for Bliss n Eso on their sold-out tour around Australia. Alongside this, Klepiak has landed on a multitude of Spotify Playlists (over 126,000 streams on his song "I'm Not Ready") and Apple Music editorials for his past singles.

"Before I Stop", which originally started as a beat that Klepiak didn't intend to write to, has now taken on a trap approach. Klepiak experimented with hook ideas and that convinced him to push through with finalizing the song. The song was self-produced by Klepiak, with the help of a long-time friend and fellow producer HAMLEY.

"She don't want to fall in love,

there's other ways to do it.

Why cause trouble at the start?

That's why we shouldn't talk,

it's tearing us apart."

"Before I Stop", which encapsulates the hardships and complications of romance are paired with emotional synth chords and energetic, rhythmic melodies. It's a perfect tune for someone looking to find a song they can relate to and let out their emotions in the midst of falling in love. Aside from being able to create catchy hooks, Boy Graduate writes honestly and candidly about feelings, which is evident in his other songs such as "Two Days".

In terms of where he draws his inspirations from, Drake is a huge influence and artist Klepiak looks up to, however, he states that he listens to a wide variety of genres and bands under the Pop umbrella. "It intrigues me how different people write and I’m really working on developing my writing to suit more genres", the artist states.

When asked for a message to his fellow musicians, Klepiak mentions how he believes you should "focus on one skill to master, but also learn little bits of every trade in making music - you will be more thankful for the team you build along the way!". Starting his 2021 with a bang, audiences should look forward to the tunes yet to come from Aussie/Filo artist Boy Graduate.
