Trev

If there was one thing I truly admire as being part of the music industry is when you see an artist do their hustle just to get heard. With the crazy amount of music content out there, the leverage of someone who can talk the talk and walk the walk gets the full advantage of being here and definitely stay the longest. Because no matter how talented you are, it is still a career and a business. With this in mind, I am addressing this promising r&b hip-hop artist from Cebu named Trev

Aside from the hard work, Trev is young and ready for national exposure. He has what it takes to succeed in this jungle of an industry. From doing all coordinations of his music output to working as a point person for an overseas music PR firm to writing for us here at Beat This Philippines, I won’t even go to all the details this kid has been doing since I met him a couple of years back. Trev is like a sponge when it comes to learning the music game even with his presentation on every track he releases he knows how to progress.

In releasing “Fallin Off”, I can fairly say that all his hard work shows more now and proves what this individual can really do. The emotional single is a follow-up to his Latino-styled track “Maria” produced by Snare, the duo encapsulates a heartfelt piece composed of Trev’s emotional struggles in a relationship, delivered in his trademark quick rap style with a punch. The melodic piano playing creates a dramatic theme and feels that provide a sufficient layer on top of the song’s meaningful message.

“I think that with how young our generation may be, many of us have unrealistic expectations of relationships. The song mainly talks about me trying to get a girl that doubts me, and I'm just really tryna say let it go and trust me on this, I'm not some other guy who doesn't know what he's doing,” Trev takes inspiration for his work in many names of a high artistic caliber such as BROCKHAMPTON and Meechy Darko.

The 19-year-old singer and rapper from Cebu began his music career back in 2017 and had notable releases including “Purple Dreams” accumulating 60K streams on Spotify, collaborated with Cebuano R&B artist Sober with “Say It” accompanied by a music video with 15K views online. Trev reached new heights as an artist, with his single, “Hurt The Ones I Love” reaching the 29th spot on the Spotify Viral Top 50 PH. On top of that, the recent “Maria” music video successfully made its way to a premiere on MYX Philippines, along with the song garnering over 50K online streams.

The young-blooded and talented Trev is proving to the scene that he's here to stay so keep your eyes locked on this Cebuano artist as he makes his moves through the year!
