“…experiencing heartbreaks from the past, it is a song about allowing one’s self to fall in love again.

Paul Pablo

This is probably one of those stories that are quite familiar from how it used to be back in the days were in, a talented new artist submits a track on terrestrial radio, got heard, got a break, and having to be signed to a major label, you’d think this narrative doesn’t happen in the modern age of streaming.

Enter Paul Pablo, also known to his friends as Paul Ramirez, this 21-year-old Davao-based pop artist took the airwaves in Davao and created a tight-knit buzz with his 2020 debut release called “Bai” which was impressive, to say the least with its catchy melodic hooks and a few rap parts that made this track a favorite and got regular airplay. With a self-produced music video that goes to show you can do a lot with a cartolina and newspaper as materials for the video production, Paul Pablo delivers a stylish swag on how he presented himself on it, gaining 12,000 streams on both YouTube and Spotify last year, not bad at all for a new act in 2020.

Now he is back with his second single and first release under Warner Music Philippines entitled “Bangin”, Paul Pablo once again proved that his new song is not a sophomore slump. Since its release last February 26, the song already had 2,000+ views on YouTube and 1,500+ streams on Spotify in 24 hours of it being out, with over 100 plus comments and 300 plus thumbs up on YouTube, you know that Paul Pablo is an artist to watch out for.

“Bangin” is a song about allowing one’s self to fall in love again. Experiencing heartbreaks from the past, Paul Pablo confronted these experiences by choosing to believe in love once more. This track is made more remarkable by Paul Pablo for being the person behind its lyrics, concept, and vocals working with Jhay Ehidio which is one half of Davao's Y ARA as the producer bringing together influences of electro-pop, indie, disco, synth-pop, and RNB.

Expecting a song placement on an upcoming online series called My Toxic Lover plus a new music video on the way, Paul Pablo is on a roll and believes in making a twist by translating his imagination into music and visuals. As an LGBTQ advocate, Paul Pablo wants to lift the rainbow flag by making his significance in the Philippine Music Industry. His new flavor of Pop music will surely capture this generation’s taste on OPM.
