Sam Akins

More often than not, when we're being too hard on ourselves, we do it since we're driven by a desire to dominate and do everything right always. This includes a lot of self-criticisms and that persecutory internal voice that continually discloses to us how we could've improved and how could’ve done things better. The newest single by Sam Akins, titled "Me for Myself" is the perfect song for those of us who are on the lifelong journey of self-acceptance.

The main thing that comes into mind when I hear the word confidence is my bliss and happiness with myself — the lack of concern about what others might think of how I live my life. I think we, as a whole, have experienced some form of crisis and feelings of isolation, but we need to face the reality that at the end of the day, all we have is ourselves.

"I'm learning to live above the pain of yesterday, I'm learning to love myself a little more today"

"Me for Myself" tells a story of how important it is to love yourself, and in the journey of loving yourself, we find the freedom and acceptance we seek. His subsequent single named "Peel" is a track that honors the disco-funk time and is injected with pop vocals that complemented the sentimental vibe of "Me for Myself".

Farah Richardson once wrote: “Have the heart to love yourself unconditionally and be passionate about your goals and life. Even if your heart has endured a tremendous amount of pain, don’t allow it to taint your strong spirit. Live your life to the fullest and always make every day count." Sam Akins's newest single "Me for Myself" lends a powerful anthem to this long journey of radical self-love. Make sure to give a listen to "Me for Myself" which is out now on all streaming platforms!
